PR Context Generator is a Chrome extension that helps developers understand GitHub Pull Requests by generating AI-powered analysis summaries. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

2. Data Collection

When you use PR Context Generator, we collect:

• PR Title: The title of the Pull Request you're viewing
• PR Description: The description/body text of the PR
• File Changes: List of changed files with additions/deletions counts
• Branch Names: Base and head branch names
• PR URL: The GitHub URL of the PR

3. What We DON'T Collect

• ❌ Personal identification information (name, email, etc.)
• ❌ GitHub authentication tokens or credentials
• ❌ Your browsing history outside of GitHub
• ❌ Any data from private repositories (unless you explicitly use the extension)
• ❌ Actual source code content (only file names and change statistics)

4. How We Use Your Data

The collected PR data is used solely for:

• Analysis Generation: Sent to our backend API which forwards it to Groq AI (LLaMA model) for analysis
• Caching: Results are cached temporarily (1 hour) to improve performance and reduce API calls
• No Long-term Storage: Data is not stored permanently on our servers

5. Data Sharing

Your PR data is shared with:

• Groq AI API: For generating analysis summaries (their privacy policy applies)
• No Third Parties: We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or other third parties

6. Data Storage

• Temporary Caching: Analysis results cached for 1 hour in server memory
• No Persistent Database: No long-term data storage
• Local Browser Storage: Extension uses Chrome's local storage for preferences only

7. Data Security

• All communication between extension and backend uses HTTPS
• Backend hosted on secure platforms (Railway.app / Render.com)
• Rate limiting prevents abuse (30 requests/minute)
• No authentication required, minimizing security risks

8. User Rights

You have the right to:

• Stop Using: Uninstall the extension at any time
• Data Deletion: Cached data auto-expires after 1 hour
• Opt-Out: Simply don't click the "Generate Context" button

9. Children's Privacy

This extension is intended for developers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
